Boosting Events Marketing in Tasmania

Tasmania is home to an annual calendar of unique and iconic events, providing economic and cultural benefits for our state and attracting interstate visitors as well as local intrastate travel.

We know people want what we’ve got, and that they want to travel here to experience it.

We want more people coming to Tasmania outside of the traditional summer season and that’s why the Tasmanian Government continues to supports our events industry through the successful Events Marketing Tasmania grant program.

With submissions now open, the Program provides local event organisers with the opportunity to extend their marketing reach for Tasmanian events occurring in 2023 - to get visitors travelling, talking and sharing about Tasmania.

The Event Marketing Tasmania grant will assist event organisers to add value to an existing marketing strategy for an established Tasmanian event, with an aim to increase intrastate and interstate visitation.

Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate how the proposed event and associated marketing activity will drive visitation to regional parts of the state, outside of the high season.

The kunanyi Mountain Run,  a successful recipient for its event this year in 2022, has seen the positive impact the grant has had on promoting the event and attracting visitation from interstate markets. It also supported local producers while celebrating the benefits of trail running and Tasmania’s connection to kunanyi/Mt Wellington.

The Event Marketing Tasmania grant round will be open for submissions from Monday, 8 August until Friday, 16 September 2022, with up to $10 000 in funding available to eligible applicants.
