Applications are now open for our $3 million GP After Hours Support Initiative, which will help more Tasmanians get the right care, in the right place, at the right time, while reducing pressure on our emergency departments.
This will increase access to after hours care across Tasmania, delivering on a key election commitment for our first 100 days.
Round 1 of the initiative will be open to applications from GPs and pharmacies for funding, including:
These services will make it easier for Tasmanians to access medical care closer to home by working with the primary health sector to implement support and encouragement programs to provide after-hours care for their local communities.
This will complement our Community Rapid Response service and Secondary Triage programs, along with our $1 million Hospital Avoidance Investment fund, which will match private sector investment on a dollar-for-dollar basis to support capital upgrades for GPs and primary care providers.
