97 per cent of public health employees meet mandatory COVID-19 vaccination guidelines

With less than five days to go, I’m pleased to report that 97 per cent of Tasmania’s public health sector employees have now met the Government’s requirement for mandatory vaccination or exemption.

This equates to a headcount of 14,534 paid employees across our public health system in Tasmania.

In recent days, we have seen a significant spike in public health sector employees providing evidence of vaccination or a medical exemption and we’ll continue to work with the remaining 3 per cent to achieve the best possible outcome.

It’s clear that these latest figures only confirm that our Government’s plan to reconnect Tasmanians is widely supported by those who work to protect our communities every day.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government remains focused on ensuring every eligible Tasmanian has the opportunity to get vaccinated in the lead up to reopening our borders carefully and safely on December 15.
