Tenders to improve learning in Tasmanian Schools

Significant capital works project tenders are currently being advertised for alterations and additions to a Cygnet kindergarten and the major redevelopment of a Southern High School.

Works at Taroona High School will provide new and contemporary standard music facilities, support spaces and student amenities.

While the Cygnet Primary School kindergarten will receive a major refurbishment as part of a $15 million funding package that was announced last year towards new build and upgrades of kindergartens across Tasmanian Government Schools.

These projects are part of the Hodgman majority Liberal Government’s ongoing commitment to ensure students and staff have the best environments possible to learn and work.

We want to invest in the wellbeing of students and staff across Tasmania and demonstrate our commitment to creating environments that are welcoming, safe and inclusive for all.

Research tell us that if we want to improve lifelong education and well-being outcomes, then the best time to invest is in the early years of life when children learn to communicate, get along with others and control and adapt their behaviour, emotions and thinking.

Building projects such as these help build Tasmania’s education future by ensuring schools, staff, students and the community are supported with high-quality learning facilities, while driving economic growth and creating jobs from planning to construction.
