Supporting skills to support the community

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is committed to ensuring Tasmania has the skilled workforce it needs to support our growing economy now and into the future.

A key part of this plan is the Skills Fund, which supports businesses and community organisations upskill their workforces by improving quality and productivity.

This latest round of funding will support training across the construction, dairy, mining, fruit growing, aquaculture, manufacturing and transport and logistics industries.

Importantly, it will also support the aged and disability services sector by allowing organisations like St Michaels Association to provide dedicated training.

This funding will help St Michaels train their own people, as well as some 700 workers from at least 25 disability organisations across the state.

St Michaels is among 13 organisations sharing in over $2 million from this round of the Skills Fund, which will directly help 1600 existing workers improve their skills and advance their job prospects.
