The Tasmanian Government is committed to rebuilding our economy and supporting jobs throughout the state by funding projects that provide work for Tasmanian companies.
Our $10 million School Revitalisation Maintenance Package, announced last month is supporting small businesses in our regions by bringing forward scheduled maintenance projects. By doing this we are improving school sites and mitigating the economic and social impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The maintenance program is priority based and includes fire services, roofing, electrical safety, switchboard upgrades, lighting upgrades, painting, flooring, asbestos removal, lift maintenance and resurfacing services.
Today I met with Scott Bellinger from ETCS Electrical and Fire which is one of many local businesses benefiting from the Government’s package.
ETCS services extend across the breadth of the state and ranges in delivering minor repairs through to more significant upgrades - “We have engaged apprentices who during these difficult times would (otherwise) not necessarily have employment in our business to support the local communities.” Scott Bellinger, CEO - ETCS Electrical and Fire

The Government will do everything it can to rebuild the economy and support jobs while also delivering on vital maintenance projects.
Approximately 280 projects across 125 sites will benefit from the works which will be distributed equitably across all regions and local contractors employed to undertake the work.
