New swimming pool facility for Oatlands

The Hodgman Liberal Government is Building Tasmania’s Future and reinvesting in our local communities.

I am pleased to announce $2 million has been allocated as part of the 2017-18 Budget to provide the Oatlands regional community with a brand new indoor heated swimming pool facility.

The new pool will allow year round access and will not only benefit the Oatlands community, but will also attract visitors from other regions who will then spend money in shops and eateries in the Oatlands district.

This is a great result for everyone in the local community after more than 10 years of lobbying to replace the old, rundown swimming pool.

The $2 million will be added to a Federal grant and funds from the Southern Midlands Council, and I look forward to seeing the project commence soon.
