New gym-performance hall for Snug Primary School

The Hodgman Liberal Tasmanian Government is committed to excellence in education and a vital part of our Plan is investing in contemporary learning environments for the benefits of Tasmanian students.

Today a significant building tender has been advertised for Snug Primary School, which is part of the biggest state investment in Government school infrastructure in 20 years.

This $2.5 million project will provide the construction of a new gym, which will also be used as a presentation and performance hall.

It will be a universally-accessible, multi-functional space, accommodating the whole school for assemblies and presentations, indoor sports activities and community events.

The new building will incorporate a multi-purpose learning area, toilet facilities and extensive storage spaces.

Capital projects such as this help build Tasmania’s education future by ensuring schools, staff, students and the community are supported with high-quality learning facilities, while driving economic growth and creating jobs from planning to construction.

The Hodgman Liberal Government is continuing to invest in school infrastructure across the forward estimates, with a record school capital program of $179 million for Government school infrastructure during the next four years.
