The Tasmanian Government has today formalised arrangements for local councils to meet remotely during the COVID-19 emergency.

The Tasmanian Government has been working closely with the local government sector to enable councils to meet physical distancing requirements while still enabling elected members and staff to meet and fulfil their statutory requirements.

Councils will also need to make an electronic recording of meetings available on their websites for the community to view.
