The Tasmanian Liberal Government is proud to once again sponsor this year's GovHack event, which aims to identify new insights and benefits for our economy and the wider Tasmanian community through the repurposing of Government data.
To be held across Australia and New Zealand between August 14 and 16, local teams competing in GovHack 2020 will drive Tasmanian ideas and innovation and support our 7,300 strong ICT workforce, which is growing at eight per cent a year.
Tasmania is one of only two jurisdictions to host venue-based GovHack events this year – at the Enterprize hubs in Launceston and Hobart. Other states and territories will be reduced to online-only events.
Tasmanian Government datasets available for use at GovHack 2020 cover a wide range of subjects, including information about schools, health, justice, the environment, planning and heritage.

The Government sponsored awards for this year’s Tasmanian GovHack events will include the ‘Most Outstanding Tasmanian Benefit’, ‘Most Commercial Benefit’, ‘Best Use of Tasmanian Spatial Data’ and ‘Best Use of Tasmanian Heritage Data’.
