Almost $90,000 of support has been committed to a range of new film, television and online short-form projects through Screen Tasmania’s latest round of funding.
This funding will support six projects in their first stage of development including Roar Film, whose three-part documentary series, It Takes a Village, follows the progress of Australia’s first purpose-built dementia care complex, Korongee Village.
Expected to open in Hobart’s northern suburbs in 2020, the series will follow the journey of residents, families, carers and the local community as the village concept comes to life.
A short-form comedy series about an 18-year-old rev-head from Launceston has also been supported. Australia’s Best Street Racer from One Stone Pictures is an idea developed from Screen Tasmania’s 2016 Comedy Concentrate initiative.
