Expression of Interest call for TMAG board member

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is a strong supporter of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) and the great educational impact it has on the Tasmanian community.

Today we are inviting expressions of interest from individuals seeking appointment as a member of the TMAG Board of Trustees.

TMAG is Tasmania’s leading natural, cultural and heritage organisation, which cares for the State Collection of almost 800,000 objects as diverse as fossils and fine art.

Board members determine the strategic direction of the Museum in accordance with the Ministerial Statement of Expectation.

The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery Act 2017, introduced by our Government, establishes TMAG as a statutory authority and details the Board’s full functions, powers and other relevant information.

Expressions of interest are being advertised in newspapers across the State, with applications closing at 11:59 pm on Sunday 24 November, 2019.
