Calling Tasmania’s top women in resources

The Tasmanian majority Liberal Government has a plan for a more inclusive Tasmania, and has led the way with initiatives aimed at achieving positive change for women and girls.

Now the search is on for Tasmania’s top women in the resources, minerals, manufacturing and energy sectors, with the launch of the 2020 Women in Resources Tasmanian Awards in Burnie this afternoon.

Women are making their mark and bringing a significant and increasing contribution to the resources, manufacturing and energy sectors, which are key players in our economy, directly employing thousands of people throughout Tasmania.

Each year we are seeing the number of nominations grow, demonstrating that more and more women are making their mark in these industries, across a diverse range of roles including management, engineering, manufacturing and trades.

Winners of the Women in Resources Tasmania Awards go into the National Women in Resources Awards to be presented later in the year.

The Awards are hosted by the Tasmanian Minerals, Manufacturing and Energy Council and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Women in Mining Network Tasmania with support from Bell Bay Aluminium, Nyrstar, Caterpillar Underground Mining, Hazell Bros and Cement Australia.
