Tasmania’s economy is going from strength to strength under the Hodgman Liberal Government as businesses invest and create jobs right across the state.
Our building and construction industry is booming and creating jobs across the State. Recent figures show the number of Tasmanians working in the industry is now at a record high of 23,200.
In a further vote of confidence in our building and construction sector, Australian Glass Group has expanded its operations and invested considerably in Tasmania, with 30 staff currently employed and the potential to expand further.
It was my pleasure today to cut the ribbon to mark the opening of their new factory in Rokeby, in my electorate of Franklin.
Today’s opening marks another great vote of confidence in the industry and is more confirmation that our long term plan is working to improve the lives of Tasmanians.
