STRENGTHENING THE FUTURE OF TASMANIAN COMMUNITIES

The Liberal Government is strengthening Tasmania’s future and delivering the essential services Tasmanians need to improve the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities through the 2022-23 Tasmanian Budget.

We know that communities are at the heart of almost everything that we do, and we are in a unique position to grasp the opportunities ahead.

Any of us, at any time, can find ourselves in need of community services, which is why the 2022-23 State Budget includes:

  • $300,000 for Kentish House;
  • $74,000 for King Island’s Phoenix House;
  • $170,000 to deliver the Bike Collective Program in Risdon Vale and the Huon to support and promote engagement of young people;
  • $180,000 to implement Tasmania’s Multicultural Policy and Action Plan, and
  • $400,000 for the replacement of the Bracknell Hall.

In every region and community across Tasmania, we want to help people to be better connected and supported, and to encourage and enable greater participation.

We will continue to work with the vital organisations that underpin the wellbeing of our communities, working together to ensure we all support those in greatest need while also keeping people engaged in and connected to their community, to strengthen Tasmania’s future.
