DELIVERING FOR BASS

The 2021-22 Tasmanian Budget delivers on our plan to secure Tasmania’s future.

It builds on the strong foundations this Government has established - growing our economy, creating jobs, supporting business, and connecting the skills and training Tasmanians need to grasp the opportunities ahead. We are delivering the biggest health spend in Tasmania’s history, a record spend into education, skills and training and we’re helping more Tasmanians into homes. This Budget invests in climate action and renewable initiatives, and provides a more competitive tax system – one that is fair, sensible and sustainable.

This Budget is based on listening to what the Tasmanian community wants and providing support where it is most needed. It delivers on our plan to secure Tasmania’s future.

LAUNCESTON

$66.4M for the Launceston and Tamar Valley Traffic Vision*
$27.4M for State Road upgrades – in the Northern Region*
$12M for Launceston General Hospital – Mental Health Precinct*
$9M for new ambulance vehicles and equipment^#
$40.8M for new paramedics across the State*
$15M for the Health ICT Digital Transformation project
$24M for the construction of a new primary school in Legana
$4M for the Tamar Dredging Program and $4M for the Tamar Estuary Governance program
$1.5M to upgrade and reopen the Glen Dhu swimming pool
$1M to redevelop the Launceston City Football Club
$1M for the Karinya Young Mums project*
$624,000 to complete the $4.5M new Kindergarten at East Launceston Primary School
$15M for Tasmanian Agricultural Precinct for research, skills and development of industry^#
$80,000 for a new communication system for the Elphin Sports Centre
$500M for Stage 2 of the Launceston General Hospital Redevelopment Masterplan*
$150,000 for the Kelso Public facilities upgrade
$80,000 for upgrading the Launceston Pony and Riding Club grounds
$27,000 to construct a new Men’s Shed at Riverside
$110,000 to renovate a new site for the operation of Mission Health for City Mission
$20,000 to reinstate the Invermay Primary bell tower
$110,000 for upgrades at Trevallyn Bowls Club
$350,000 for refurbishment at Playgroup Tasmania’s Holbrook St Centre
$350,000 to establish a new multi-cultural hub^
$750,000 for the redevelopment of the St Leonards Hockey Centre
$25,000 for new toilet facilities at Northern Tasmania Athletics
$75,000 for the new Northern Tasmanian propagation and food produce project

TAMAR VALLEY

$11M for a major redevelopment of the Exeter High School*
$735,000 towards the rebuild of the Exeter Show and Recreation Centre
$26.6M for six new Child and Family Learning Centres statewide - including East Tamar
$40,000 for a new disability lift at George Town RSL
$112,500 to upgrade the Port Dalrymple Yacht Club slipway
$31,609 to upgrade the Beaconsfield School Pool
$380,000 for a new Artisans Guild in George Town
$78,000 for a new roof for the George Town Community Bowls Club
$56,000 for new disability toilets at Beauty Point Bowls and Community Club

FLINDERS ISLAND

$980,000 for a new veterinarian facility and equipment to attract a new veterinarian to the Island
$352,000 to further strengthen biosecurity
$600,000 to revitalise park assets and upgrading campground facilities
$60,000 to upgrade the Flinders Island Sports and RSL Club
$300,000 to develop a Regenerative Tourism Plan
$2M for staged sealing of priority sections of Palana Road

NORTH EAST

$650,000 towards the Victoria Street redevelopment, including major underground infrastructure works
$276,000 to upgrade the Hillwood Recreation Hub
$80,000 for new spectator areas at the Bridport Football Club
$50,000 for upgrades to the Scottsdale RSL
$120,000 for refurbishment of the Bridport RSL
$50,000 for preparation for a new community jetty in Tomahawk
$70,000 for upgrades to the Sidmouth War Memorial
$70,000 for construction of a new Men’s Shed at Lilydale
$190,000 for a new all weather rink at Lilydale Bowls Club
$280,000 for upgrades to the Scottsdale Football Club
$350,000 for the extension of the Lilydale Football clubrooms
$1.2M towards developing Ben Lomond as a year-round destination^#
