Tenders called for Binalong Bay Road upgrade

Tenders have been called for an upgrade to a section of Binalong Bay Road, as the Tasmanian Liberal Government continues to deliver road improvements to the state’s North-East.

This project is part of our Road Package to support Tasmania’s Visitor Economy, enhancing the experience of visitors and improving safety for all road users.

Importantly, these improvements to Binalong Bay Road support the extension of the Great Eastern Drive beyond St Helens to Binalong Bay.

The project will ensure a more consistent road environment by providing increased lane widths and sealed shoulders to a 2.5-kilometre section of Binalong Bay Road, from just south of the Moulting Bay Beach Road junction to near Cray Court.

The upgraded road will better cater for all road users, including cyclists, by providing a wider road, reducing drop-offs on the road shoulder and improving visibility. It will also reduce ongoing maintenance costs.

Construction is expected to begin later this year.
