MAIB delivering for road safety and community support

MAIB delivered more than $4.6 million to community, Government and other organisations for a range of important road safety and community support initiatives, its 2019-20 annual report shows.

This included $3.9 million for education and enforcement strategies of the Road Safety Advisory Council, as well as funding of regional high schools to provide all-terrain vehicle training, sponsorship of brain injury disability related charities and learner driver mentor programs.

Pleasingly, there was a high client satisfaction rating in 2019-20, with an overall score of 87.5 per cent.

The annual report also showed there was no general increase to MAIB premiums from December 1, 2019 – and they remain the lowest in the nation.

MAIB reported an after tax profit of $8 million.

The Tasmanian Government thanks the MAIB board, management and staff for the fantastic work they do.
