Making it easier to get your learner licence in Tasmania

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is making getting your learner licence easier, faster, cheaper and more convenient with Plates Plus going live today.

Plates Plus lets you learn what you need to know before you get on the road as well as take your knowledge test wherever and whenever you like.

The new Plates Plus online learning and assessment platform will improve learner driver education and give new drivers a safer start to their time on the road.

The platform teaches the road rules in an interactive and innovative way, and progress is saved so you can learn at your own pace.

It will ensure new drivers build an in-depth understanding of the road rules as well as safe driving behaviour.

The driver knowledge test can also now be done online through the platform. This removes the need for repeated visits to Service Tasmania, which we understand can be a barrier to getting your licence.

You can complete both the learning and the test at a time and place of your choosing. All you need is access to a computer, tablet or smart phone and the internet.

With around 6,500 Tasmanians going for their learner licence each year, it will make a big difference for those juggling work or school as well as cutting out the need to travel to the local service centre.

The Plates Plus platform is the more convenient way for getting your licence.
