Show your support during Legacy Week

Today marks the start of Legacy Week and Tasmanians are urged to donate generously and support the outstanding work of this organisation.

Legacy Week runs from 29 August to 4 September 2021 and Friday September 3 is Badge Day.

Legacy Week began in 1942 and is also known as Badge Week. The badges are an iconic token of appreciation for donations made by members of the public.

Legacy was formed in 1923 and is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life.

Legacy provides critical support to veterans and their families and is dedicated to caring for the families of fallen or seriously injured veterans.

Legacy’s caring and compassionate service assists widows, widowers, children and dependents with a disability.

The services offered by Legacy include counseling, special housing, medical, advocacy and social support to families and also helps with education fees and resources.

Launceston Legacy and Hobart Legacy each receive $20 000 per year from the Tasmanian Government to support veterans and their families.
