Years 9 to 12 review awarded to ACER

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to improving educational outcomes for all Tasmanians.

This is why in the State Budget we committed $250,000 for an independent review of the way education is provided in Years 9 to 12, including vocational education and training provisions.

As part of the review, a report including recommendations on the focus areas will be provided to my office by the end of the year.

Tasmania’s retention and attainment are among the lowest in the nation, and we are committed to addressing this. This review along with other initiatives including extending our high schools to Years 11 and 12, investing in improving the quality of our teachers and support staff and proposed changes to the starting age and leaving requirements,
