While several of our communities are being impacted by the fires, it is important the world knows Tasmania is open for business.
A vast number of experiences and attractions are largely unaffected by fires so we are encouraging visitors to lock in their plans to enjoy our state.
And one of the best ways Tasmanians support those impacted by fires is to visit and support local businesses where it is safe to do so.
The Tasmanian Government, through Tourism Tasmania, has been working with major partners including airlines, tour operators, the cruise industry and Tourism Australia to ensure visitors know that the current fire situation does not apply to the whole of the State.
The Government understands that the tourism industry is the life-blood of Tasmania’s regional communities, and we now need to support fire impacted communities which have been hit during the busiest time of the year.
Industry and Government has already come together to plan how it will support regional tourism economies impacted, as well as ensure Tasmania remains one of the most-sought after destinations for travel over the next few months.
Tasmania’s unrivalled natural environment is a major drawcard for visitors and Parks and Wildlife Service staff, along with tourism operators, have been keeping visitors informed about the fire situation.
