Workforce Development Grants Program now open

The Hodgman Liberal Government is a strong supporter of business and industry growth in Tasmania.

The latest round of the Workforce Development Grants Program is now open for applications, with up to $500,000 available for industry, employer, and community organisations to own, design and implement workforce planning and development projects.

Workforce development projects allow the Government to invest in skills and training that creates jobs and supports regional economic growth.

Funding is provided for industry or regionally led projects that will improve workforce participation and productivity, and assist industry and regional bodies to design and implement workforce strategies and plans.

We support increasing workforce participation and maximising the availability of appropriately skilled workers required to meet the current and forecast workforce needs of our local industries.

This latest funding round will build on the successes of previously funded projects which has resulted in the development of regionally based workforce plans and strategies to help jobseekers find work locally, as well as providing industry-specific skills to young Tasmanians across the community services, engineering and seafood sectors.

Applications for the latest round of Workforce Development Grants Program funding close on 22 March 2017.

Further information including program guidelines and application forms is available from Skills Tasmania http://www.skills.tas.gov.au/employersindustry/wfdgrants
