Rebecca White’s refusal to investigate whether any Labor staff member has been involved in cyber bullying, despite demanding it of others, must be because she knows she won’t get the answer she is looking for.
Her Deputy, Michelle O’Byrne, has admitted that she could not guarantee that Labor staffers did not possess social media accounts under aliases, saying some staff, “have accounts that are not in their own names for entirely personal reasons.”*
In contrast the incident involving a Liberal staffer during the state election campaign was investigated and found to be an isolated incident. The Government has since updated its social media policy.
It’s been months since the election, if Ms White took cyber bullying seriously she would have investigated the online behaviour of Labor staff ages ago.
