Tasmanians can get a sneak peek of the completed Royal Hobart Hospital 10-storey tower with the release of updated computer generated virtual tours.
The Hodgman Liberal Government has backed the $689 million RHH Redevelopment from the start and it’s great to see these three dimensional images of what will be a state-of-the-art health facility once complete.
Produced by the RHH Redevelopment architects Lyons and Terroir, the virtual tours allow you to stand in the central foyer at reception and look over to the landscaped outdoor area and admissions.
A virtual tour of the birthing facilities shows its ‘homely’ feel with medical equipment concealed behind timber laminate, birthing pools - which are new to the hospital and built-in day beds for caregivers.
Have a look at a four-bed renal unit included to showcase the use of colour in the design which is both calming and non-clinical, or visit an operating theatre.
The use of the computer generated three-dimensional program, called Roundme, is a great tool to help people visualise what the hospital will look like once complete.

The Hodgman Government is getting on with the job of delivering a health system for all Tasmanians and we’re doing that through record funding, opening more beds and employing more staff.
