Villa Howden to woo honeymooners

Confidence in Tasmania’s booming tourism industry continues to grow with new plans to expand Villa Howden in the state’s south.

The Australia Travel and Culture Group (ATCG) has purchased the picturesque property at North West Bay and is developing it into an international destination for soon-to-be newlyweds.

The owners hope to build on Tasmania’s reputation as a must-see holiday destination to also become a must-be place for wedding ceremonies and honeymoons.

Tasmania is already a great destination for holidaymakers and is primed for growth in this area.

Last year international visitors jumped up 11 per cent with the holiday market showing the greatest growth at 16 per cent.

The ATCG sees great potential in Tasmania’s tourism industry and has already purchased beachside Retreat West Inlet and Hanlon House at Stanley.

Investments like this provide even more reasons for visitors to choose Tasmania as a travel destination.

We have set our own visitor targets and they’re ambitious but we are on track to deliver.

The Coordinator General’s office has been assisting ATCG and will continue to work to progress job-creating development and investment opportunities in Tasmania.
