The Tasmanian Liberal Government welcomes the construction of Veolia's new corporate and operations base at Cambridge.
Veolia's $7 million investment is a vote of confidence in Tasmania's growing economy.
The modern and purpose built environmental services centre will be the base for about 140 full time employees, including capacity for an additional 20 new workers and an increase in Veolia's vehicle fleet.
It's expected that Veolia's new home will be open and running by mid this year.
Veolia's investment is another sign of the growing confidence in Tasmania, which was reflected in the latest Sensis Business Index that showed confidence is growing faster here than any other state.
The Liberal Government is committed to creating jobs and growing the economy. We are seeing encouraging signs, and there is still more to be done, but we are getting on with the job of implementing out plan for Tasmania.
