Three Bruny Island ferries running this long weekend

The Australian Day long weekend is one of the busiest periods for Bruny Island and ferry operator SeaLink has announced that three ferries will be operating from Friday to Monday to deal with the increased demand.

The first ferry will be departing Kettering at 6.30am on Friday (January 25) and tourists and passengers are urged to plan their trip and arrive as early as possible to avoid the busiest times.

I have asked the Transport Commission to work closely with SeaLink to ensure that appropriate marshalling and traffic management is undertaken in the case of longer-than-expected queuing, to ensure safety on the road.

The recent feedback about SeaLink’s Bruny Ferry services over the busiest-ever Christmas-New Year holiday period has been largely positive, and the Tasmanian Government is confident that the company will continue to provide a modern and efficient service that meets the requirements of all users.
