While Tasmanians are rejoicing at the sound of rain throughout the State it was more like the Sound of Silence for Bryan Green in Parliament this week.
Labor and the Greens have made an art form out of talking down Tasmania and trying to scare Tasmanians by recommending brown-outs and power rationing.
They have asked dozen of questions in Parliament in past weeks and denied any complicity in draining lakes to capitalise on the Carbon Tax.
In contrast the Hodgman Liberal Government got on with the job of working with Hydro to find energy solutions and introduced a clear Energy Supply Plan using a combination of gas, diesel, wind and water to keep the lights on while Basslink is being repaired.
Now that our Energy Supply Plan is working and autumn rain is falling Bryan Green has lost complete interest and not one question was asked about this issue in State Parliament this week.
Labor and the Greens were only interested in their ``energy crisis’’ when they thought they could score cheap political points and create fear in the Tasmanian community.
They weren’t interested in finding solutions, they just wanted to blame someone else for the unforeseen outage of the Basslink cable and an unprecedented lack of spring and summer rain.
There is still a lot of work to do in terms of restoring Tasmania’s energy security but the smart use of run-of-river power stations and back-up energy options are all part of our sensible Energy Supply Plan that is keeping the lights on.
