The backflips keep coming - Labor finally admits they got it wrong on helipad

It’s taken twelve years and two shadow health ministers but Labor has today finally admitted they were wrong about the need for a helipad at the RHH.

After themselves removing the helipad from the project, Labor has finally come to their senses and backed the helipad for the Royal.  The clear advice from doctors is that the helipad will save vital minutes, which will save lives.

The backflips keep coming this week, with Labor also finally revealing they have ditched the policies they took to the election, having started by pushing their pokies policy overboard all in an effort to shore up Rebecca White’s leadership.

The Government is progressing the 2018 election commitment to update the overall RHH site Masterplan, which will include consideration of proposals and consultation with staff and key stakeholders.

This process will ensure any decisions taken are properly and fully informed, with appropriate professional support and due diligence, to ensure decisions we take are in the very best interests of patients.

We will consider it closely and as we have committed to do, we will make it available publicly.

We will continue to work constructively with health stakeholders as part of this process, including the AMA, and will not let politics get in the way of achieving the best outcomes for Tasmanians.
