Tenders advertised for Forth and Brighton Primary Schools

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to investment in education across Tasmania and the 2019-20 State Budget is testament to this with $184.2 allocated million for education infrastructure.

Our budget is all about maintaining the momentum and investing for growth, and these job creating infrastructure projects are an important component of  our plan.

Today, a significant capital works project tender has been advertised for the construction of a new Kindergarten facility at Forth Primary School and a major refurbishment of the Kindergarten at Brighton Primary School.

This work is part of a $15 million funding package towards new Kindergartens and Kindergarten upgrades across Tasmanian Government Schools.

We want to invest in the well-being of students and staff across Tasmania and demonstrate our commitment to creating environments that are welcoming, safe and inclusive.

Research tells us that if we want to improve lifelong education and well-being outcomes, then the best time to invest is in the early years of life when children learn to communicate, get along with others and control and adapt their behaviour, emotions and thinking.

The Hodgman Liberal Government’s targeted investment in education, from birth through to year 12 and beyond, will ensure Tasmania has a job-ready generation of young people with the skills to participate in a modern economy.
