Tender advertised for school upgrades

The Hodgman Liberal Government has a goal to lead the nation in education and to do this we are prioritising investment into our schools and conducting the most extensive capital works in 20 years.

Across the forward estimates, our 2016-17 Budget provides the biggest state investment in Government School infrastructure in 20 years – building our education future by upgrading schools while growing the Tasmanian economy.

Today a significant building tender has been advertised that will see our current and future Lenah Valley Primary School students enjoy high-quality education facilities that meet the needs of modern learners.

This tender will see the construction of new classrooms, staff offices and breakout spaces as well as the redevelopment of existing classrooms to provide contemporary learning environments.

A total of $110 million will be invested over four years to upgrade facilities at schools around the state to ensure students have access to contemporary and flexible facilities, to discover a path to their future career.

This Government is Building Tasmania’s Future with strategic investment in our state’s infrastructure that will drive economic growth and create jobs, from planning to construction.
