Ten Days on the Island for all Tasmanians

Tasmania’s world-class arts and cultural festival is back in 2017 with events and performances to wow communities across 39 locations.

Our home-grown talent features strongly in next year’s Ten Days on the Island program – more than 56 items will come from Tasmanian artists and arts companies.

The program features 80 events and 230 performances from artists across 15 countries.

Events like this are not possible without the support provided by businesses big and small, Local Government and the media.

Congratulations to Hazell Bros for its continued sponsorship. The successful partnership between the Tasmanian company and the Festival dates back to 2011 and goes to show there’s no such thing as strange bedfellows when it comes to the arts.

Recent research places Tasmania as the top spot in Australia for museums and culture. Art events like Ten Days on the Island promote our state nationally and internationally and add to our significant appeal as an arts and cultural tourism destination. Importantly, it contributes to the Government’s target of attracting 1.5 million visitors per year by 2020.

The Festival runs from 17-26 March 2017.
