Tasting all of Tasmania

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is working with the City of Hobart to make Taste of Tasmania an event which truly showcases the finest from right across the state.

The Government will provide a $50 000 sponsorship for the Taste this year to support and promote the participation of regional producers and suppliers including those from the north and north west coast.

The sponsorship has initially helped to offset costs for stallholders including those from the north and north west.

It will also support the creation of a marketing campaign that will promote the fantastic food and beverage offerings from regional producers and suppliers.

The focus of the campaign will be on regional providence for our produce, encouraging visitors to travel to the farmgate and cellar door businesses within the region.

It will include advertisements in mainland print and tv, trail guides for visitors and place of origin stall dressing.

We want to ensure that the 200 000 plus visitors to the Taste, and indeed all visitors, have the chance to sample as many of our fine produce from across the State.

My Government is a long-standing supporter of the Taste of Tasmania. In addition to $100,000 in rent assistance at Princes Wharf Shed No 1, organisers were also offered an incentive to reduce the ‘bump in, bump out’ period over the busy summer season.
