Tassie's economic revival confirmed

Tasmania's economic revival under the majority Hodgman Liberal Government has been confirmed by the latest CommSec "State of the States" report.

The report finds that Tasmania has jumped to fourth ranked state and territory in the country, with improving population growth providing momentum to the housing and jobs markets.

This is the best result for Tasmania in five years.

Tasmania's annual population growth is now just under 0.5 of percent; under Labor and the Greens, people were leaving the state in droves.

In addition, the report finds that annual growth on home lending is the strongest in the country, at 8.9 percent.

The report follows last week's employment data, which showed Tasmania's unemployment rate had fallen to 6.4 percent and that 3,300 jobs have been created since the election.

However, we know that not everyone is feeling the benefits of the stronger economy, which is why we remain absolutely committed to economic growth and job creation as one our number one priority.
