Tassie retakes top spot in NAB business survey

Tasmania is once again number one when it comes to business confidence and business conditions.

Today’s NAB Business Survey results show that business confidence increased two points and we are now well ahead of every other state and territory.

Business conditions are also the best in the country, ten points higher than New South Wales, the next best state, and nearly three times the national average.

Importantly, businesses surveyed have confirmed that employment conditions in Tasmania have picked up and are now the highest in the country.

Tasmania is now heading in the right direction.  Our economy is growing at the fastest rate in six years, retail trade is at record highs, the building and construction sector is strong and tourism and hospitality is booming.

The best thing the Government can do to support business confidence and conditions is to get the budget back on track and reinvest the dividends in our community, which is exactly what we are doing.
