The Hodgman Liberal Government has a goal for Tasmania to be the healthiest population in the country by 2025.
The Live Lighter campaign, launched today by the Heart Foundation is part of the Government’s $6.7 million Healthy Tasmania plan. Our plan includes key partnerships between the Tasmanian Government and the community.
Originally run in WA, the Live Lighter campaign uses graphic and confronting images to educate people on obesity and demonstrate that every choice they make can have a serious impact on their health.
With more than 67 percent of Tasmanians either overweight or obese, the Government has made targeting obesity a priority within our Healthy Tasmania plan.
Healthy Tasmania is in addition to the $70 million the Government is already investing each year in preventative health programs.
The Live Lighter campaign will be seen on Tasmanian TV screens over the next six weeks.
