Tasmania’s energy generators and developers have come together today to take part in a forum on the future of Tasmania’s electricity system that has the potential to create thousands of jobs across the state.
The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to working with our generators to unlock Tasmania’s energy potential, and today’s forum is an important part of that as we continue to drive Tasmania’s energy future.
We will keep the momentum going in the sector and our energy generators and businesses will continue to drive this important reform, in consultation with the wider community.
The Australian Energy Market Operator’s ISP Insights paper released today has confirmed the importance of increased interconnection and large scale storage solutions.
That’s why we will continue to work closely with the Federal Government to progress plans for the Marinus second interconnector and massive pumped hydro investments, which represents the single biggest economic opportunity for our state over the next 15 years.
