Tasmania’s TCE achievers recognised

I’d like to offer my congratulations to the more than 7,000 Tasmanian Year 11 and 12 students now receiving their Tasmanian Certificate of Education results.

Students who chose to receive their results by email will have found out how well they have done today, while those who opted to be mailed their results will be hovering near their letterbox over the next day or two.

Through education our young Tasmanians have the very best chance of getting a job and living a fulfilling life, as well as playing a crucial role in unlocking the State's economic potential.

Every student in Tasmania has the capacity to achieve their Tasmanian Certificate of Education and I congratulate those who have worked hard to be successful in doing so.

For those who didn’t go as well as they hoped there are always more opportunities to continue their education and get set up for the exciting, challenging and varied futures they have ahead of them.

In particular, we recognise the exceptional academic achievement of the Tasmanian students whose results place them in the top 100 by Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) score.

The top three students in the South and for the State are Adeline Erica GABRIEL from St Michael's Collegiate School, Lewis Damian JOHNSON from Hobart College, and Sylvia Patricia LAWRENCE from St Michael's Collegiate School.

In the North-West, the top three students are Ignacio Andres CUELLO-REYES from Hellyer College, Alexandra Sophia FULLER from Don College, and Jacob RUNDLE from Don College.

In the North, the top three students are Henry Thomas AUSTIN-STONE from Launceston College, Matthew David ROBERTSON from Scotch Oakburn College, and Marie Cathryn STEWART from Launceston College.

I’d also like to pay tribute to all the student’s families, teachers and support staff across our schools who have helped our students prepare for this milestone and who have been dedicated to helping them plan for their futures.

My thanks also go to the Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification staff for their hard work to deliver these results prior to Christmas.
