Today’s Commonwealth Department of Jobs and Small Business data found Tasmanian growth in job vacancy numbers is the strongest of any state, with internet job vacancies in August 2019 11.3 per cent higher than a year ago, in trend terms.
These strong results are in stark contrast to declining vacancies nationally.
Tasmania is home to the nation’s most confident businesses, and when businesses are confident they invest and create jobs.
These results also follow last week’s Australian Bureau of Statistics’ labour force data which showed 13,500 jobs have been created since we came to office.
Such strong results do not happen by accident, they reflect the Hodgman majority Liberal Government’s long-term vision and plan to grow the economy and create jobs.
