Tasmania's 2018 Rural Woman of the Year announced

Congratulations to innovator Allison Clark who has been named as the Tasmanian winner of the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award for 2018.

Allison is the Lead Innovator with Optimum Standard and works across a number of industry sectors, focussing on the things that can create change in product and service delivery.

This award will provide Allison with the opportunity to research and present findings on business decision frameworks and innovation success. These findings will work towards the development of case studies and a decision tree for businesses that will stimulate and leverage the chances of an idea becoming successful.

Alison’s prize includes a $10,000 bursary and the opportunity to attend the Australian Institute of Company Director’s Course in Canberra and she will also represent Tasmania in the national Australian AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award.

The Hodgman Liberal Government recognises the vital contribution women make to rural industries and communities, and is proud to support this pre-eminent award in partnership with Westpac and ABC Radio.

Allison has taken the honours in an outstanding and diverse field of entrants and this is a testament to the strength and vibrancy of Tasmania’s rural women.

The 2018 Tasmanian Women in Agriculture Encouragement Award winner is Katherine Reed.

Sponsored by Tasmanian Women in Agriculture, the Encouragement Award provides $1000 training bursary and recognises Katherine’s project to bring together rural women impacted by disability/acquired injury.

The 2018 Tasmanian Women in Agriculture Development Award winner is Ana Pimenta.

This award is also sponsored by Tasmanian Women in Agriculture, provides a $500 bursary for personal development opportunities.

Ana’s project aims to develop and deliver a program that would increase the financial literacy of farming businesses on King Island.

Congratulations once again to all of the winners and entrants for your commitment to excellence in agricultural in Tasmania.
