Labor’s words it would only govern alone are in stark contrast to its actions, with the party voting alongside the Greens more than 90 percent of the time in Parliament this year.
Labor leader Rebecca White must take Tasmanians for fools because they have not forgiven or forgotten that despite Labor stating “a backroom deal with the Greens is a deal with the devil”*, they went on to form the Labor-Green job-destroying Government in 2010.
And current Labor members Ms White, David O’Byrne, Michelle O’Byrne, Craig Farrell and Scott Bacon sat idly by watching 10,000 jobs disappear, business confidence plummet, the forest industry ripped apart and the economy slide into recession.
A leopard doesn’t change its spots and Ms White’s Labor party has not changed its Green alliance – in fact they are voting with the Greens in Parliament now more than ever. In 2015 Labor voted alongside the Greens 62.5% of the time, increasing incrementally to a record high of 90.3% this year.
Embattled Labor leader Ms White who cannot even confirm if she wants another Labor parliamentarian in Madeline Ogilvie is asking Tasmanians to trust her and her party.
Tasmanians cannot trust Labor to tell the truth, they cannot trust Labor to manage the economy and with the same Labor leaders who struck the deal last time still at the table, they cannot trust Labor to not do deals with the Greens.
