The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to reducing barriers for women and girls’ economic participation, and building the capability for all Tasmanians to achieve financial independence.
To encourage more women to seek careers in traditionally male-dominated roles within Tasmania’s public service, the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment has launched a campaign to encourage young women to join the Agency.
See it. Dream it. Do it. is a project that aims to increase the visibility of women working in DPIPWE’s diverse operational and field based roles.
Launching today, the campaign features five women discussing their careers as a ranger, wildlife officer, biosecurity inspector, research microbiologist and surveyor. The videos will be shown across social media, online and throughout Tasmanian schools.
The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to growing the number of women involved in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine in the State, and programs like See it. Dream it. Do it. illustrates the many opportunities for young women in traditionally male-dominated fields.
The campaign has begun in the lead up to International Women’s Day on March 8, which celebrates the economic, political and social achievements of women both here in Tasmania, and across the world.
