Tasmanian Industry Roundtable

There is no stronger supporter of Tasmania’s over 39,000 businesses than the Tasmanian majority Liberal Government.

This is why we stand alongside the state’s business community as we work together to maintain a proportionate and coordinated response to handling the impacts of coronavirus in Tasmania.

We will assemble a roundtable for industry peak bodies and representatives to provide an opportunity to share information, outline challenges and discuss options on how best to support recovery and build resilience.

The roundtable forms part of the whole of government response, through the Tasmanian State Emergency Management Committee, to provide clear and timely information to industry and determine the most appropriate measures to be put in place to support business and jobs.

This will also investigate what businesses need from government and what actions industry can take the lead on when it comes to addressing economic and social challenges.

The roundtable is in addition to other measures we’ve put in place, which include establishing the business hotline 1800 440 026, for Tasmanian businesses to call if they are being impacted by the current travel restrictions.

While State Growth is continuing to work with impacted business, we know we can do more, and we are committed to working with industry to understand the scale and scope of economic impacts from this event, and to ensure that our response and support to business remains appropriate as the situation continues to evolve.
