In a Tasmanian first, the Lindisfarne Memorial Tennis Club will pilot a new Book a Court initiative which has been rolled out Australia-wide.
The club was identified by both Tennis Tasmania and Tennis Australia as a suitable site to introduce the new online system which connects participants to an innovative online booking and payment platform.
The state of the art technology will be installed at the club’s gates to allow easy access to the court for playing through simply entering a code into a pin pad.
In a bid to promote the sustainability of local tennis clubs, the system will allow better access to tennis courts, reduce administrative burden, modernise consumer expectations and increase revenue.
The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to making Tasmania the healthiest State by 2025 and to reduce Tasmania’s obesity to below the national average in the same timeframe.
We know that removing barriers to sport will help achieve these goals and I am thrilled that Tennis Tasmania and Tennis Australia are leading the way with this great new initiative.
