The Tasmanian Government is proud to partner with the Ponting Foundation to help charities that assist young Tasmanians with cancer.
As part of Ricky’s Biggest Game of Cricket held in Launceston last year, the Government matched dollar for dollar funds raised which resulted in over $400,000 raised for the Ponting Foundation.
I am pleased to be able to announce the following further organisations will receive grants from funds raised;
The Government acknowledges the tireless work of these organisations in helping Tasmanians overcome the challenges of cancer. We hope these grants will enable them to make an even greater difference.
I also commend the work of Ricky and Rianna Ponting who have been unwavering in their support for cancer charities in our State. The Government looks forward to continuing to work with them through the Ponting Foundation to assist even more Tasmanians in their time of need.
Ponting Foundation
The Ponting Foundation was formed in 2008 to help young Australians and their families beat cancer.
Co-founder, Ricky Ponting expressed his gratitude in being able to give back to his home state.
“Our partnership with the Tasmanian Government has allowed the Ponting Foundation to grow its support of health projects in Tasmania. We are committed to making a significant difference to the lives of cancer patients and their families in Tasmania, and today’s announcement is another step in that process,” Mr Ponting said.
