Tasmanian business conditions triple the national rate

The NAB business survey for February 2020 has once again confirmed that Tasmania continues to buck the national trend with strong business confidence and conditions for business.

As economic headwinds continue to appear on the horizon, maintaining strong conditions for business, so they can invest and hire more Tasmanians, remains a key priority for our Government. That’s why NAB’s Business Survey finding that Tasmania continued to rank first in the nation for business conditions, at more than triple the level seen nationally in trend terms, is a great result for our state.

With 21,100 more jobs and 2,400 new businesses since we came to Government, our long term Plan for creating greater opportunities for more Tasmanians is working.

But we know that there is more to do due to the summer’s mainland bushfires, global trade issues and the developing coronavirus.

That’s why we will continue to work hard to support our businesses, invest in the infrastructure our state needs, and deliver our long term Plan to continue growing the economy, and create a further 10,000 jobs.
