The Tasmanian Government's position is clear.
Our preference is for a standalone AFLW team
We have stated that publicly and have also communicated it to the AFL.
The granting of licences is a decision for the AFL. If they decide to grant a licence to either North Melbourne or Hawthorn then of course we would talk with those clubs about securing the best possible outcomes for women's football in Tasmania.
We have also made that clear to the AFL and both clubs.
