Tasmania set to be strike zone

The world’s best tenpin bowlers will roll into Tasmania for the International Tenpin Bowling Festival to be held in Hobart for the next three years from 2020.

The Festival will be Australia’s largest ever tenpin bowling event and host the Australian National Championships, the Australian Masters Tournament and the new ‘Devil’s Lair’ professional tournament.

Over 4,800 visitors are expected to visit Tasmania for the Festival each year.

The Festival is being supported through a $395,000 investment as part of the Hodgman majority Liberal Government’s $4 million Events Attraction Fund.

The Festival adds to Event Tasmania’s efforts to build a year-round calendar of events, which draw visitors to the state, and the Festival is timed to follow Dark Mofo to ensure the winter boon is extended for our tourism and hospitality operators.

The Events Attraction Fund has also allowed Tasmania to secure a number of participatory events including the Special Olympics, Australian Musical Theatre Festival and Oceania and Australian Laster Sailing Championship.
