Tasmania continues to lead the nation in job vacancies

Tasmania’s thriving economy is continuing to create opportunities throughout the State with Australian Bureau of Statistics showing job vacancies increasing by a nation leading 16.7 per cent in the November 2018 quarter.

Compared to the previous year, job vacancies in Tasmania are up 40 per cent, a growth rate second only to Western Australia.

The Hodgman Liberal Government’s number one priority is jobs. Under our long-term plan, around 14,500 jobs have been created since March 2014.

Today’s figures re-enforce the confidence local business have in the direction of our State. When businesses are confident they are prepared to invest and employ more Tasmanians.

The Government is focused on continuing to deliver on our long term Plan to drive economic growth and job creation. Today’s figures demonstrate our Plan is working.
